Projects – Distortion security for cyber-physical systems
How can we best distort an adversary’s view of a cyber-physical systems state?
Private and secure exchange of information is necessary and not simply desirable conditions for the CPS ecosystem to thrive; for instance, collection of personal health data in assisted reality environments, car positions and trajectories in cellphone traffic routing apps, proprietary interests, all need to be protected. In this line of work, we explore distortion-based security measures, that use small amounts of key and low complexity operations to protect against inferences an adversary may make, as opposed to protecting bits.
